While Emma and her family were away I wrote her first song, Miss You. Aside from writing a silly birthday song for a friend many years ago, I’d never written any music. But this year I started taking piano lessons and was understanding more about song form and melody and harmony and found the process of creating a song really fun. I found a rehearsal studio nearby that had drums, a bass, a keyboard, and microphones, and spent hours there working on the music and recording. Then for one of Emma’s Christmas gifts I polished the recording and uploaded it to streaming services.

I love the combination of the OP-1 and the Mood MKII pedal. One night I thought it’d be fun to try a livestream of ambient music with this setup.

Em and I went out to celebrate Lola’s birthday and thought it’d be fun to wear santa suits because it was late December.

I’m able to travel with a small amount of music gear so when I have a creative itch I can see where it leads. This particular day I put together the footage from Anna’s graduation into a video and also began composing the music for it.
