Mu loves having a yard to run around.

Last year the old house was demolished. This summer the new house was completed. Having a space for the entire family to be together - comfortably - has been wonderful.

Emma and I got up to Atlanta to see The Drums in concert. We got to see them again on New Years Eve in LA!

I love the combination of the OP-1 and the Mood MKII pedal. One night I thought it’d be fun to try a livestream of ambient music with this setup.

While Emma and her family were away I wrote her first song, Miss You. Aside from writing a silly birthday song for a friend many years ago, I’d never written any music. But this year I started taking piano lessons and was understanding more about song form and melody and harmony and found the process of creating a song really fun. I found a rehearsal studio nearby that had drums, a bass, a keyboard, and microphones, and spent hours there working on the music and recording. Then for one of Emma’s Christmas gifts I polished the recording and uploaded it to streaming services.

This year we rented an AirBnB because the house was under construction. It was Emma’s first year with the group!

Mom spent most of the summer at the new house while it was under construction and I got to join for a handful of weeks.
